Salary: R 950 000 to R 850 000 CTC per annum
Education:
B.Eng / B-Tech Mechanical degree at a South African University
Professional registration with ECSA is highly advised
Skills Required:
5 – 9 Years relevant mechanical engineering experience in project related work within a processing (metals & minerals) or petrochemical plant projects environment
Should have proven track record of working with discipline specific engineering skills, business acumen and critical evaluation skills.
Should have at least 5 years project management experience and problem solving skills.
Should have experience with a wide scope of equipment such as conveyors, crushers, screens, pumps, cranes and hoists, feeders, mills, scrubbers, compressed air systems and tanks.
Should have a track record of working with bankable feasibility studies and project execution strongly recommended.

Compiling technical enquiry packages, do technical tender evaluations and compile technical “For Order” packages. Manage and interface with Suppliers and Contractors to meet the project objectives. Review Supplier documentation for compliance with technical requirements and execute work to the required quality and within the discipline schedule and budget constraints. Manage effective change control for the discipline, maintain regular and effective engineering input into drawing office and maintain effective inter-discipline integration. Provide input into the development and optimization of mechanical layout drawings and to drive development of these drawings through the drawing office. Do functional designs for platework of minor and medium complexity and liaise with specialist consultants on more complex platework items. Maintain and update the mechanical equipment list and platework schedule, execute all work in compliance with all relevant legislation, company policies & procedures. Assist in developing the discipline equipment cost estimate, man-hour estimates and write-up on studies, provide office based construction and commission support and from time-to-time attend site visits during the construction period. Lastly to assist with continuous improvement projects and to provide suggestions for improving internal work methods and procedures on an ad-hoc basis
